Yamaha ADD – MusicCast for everyone
New member of Yamaha MusicCast family – Yamaha ADD brings multiroom functions, smarphone control and access to online music services to any audio system.
The Yamaha WXAD-10, or just a shortened ADD as it is called Yamaha, is a compact network adapter that connects to any existing audio system via standard RCA (Cinch) or 3.5mm stereo outputs. ADD classical audio systems enable wireless connectivity with other MusicCast devices in multiroom sound systems, while system control is done via a free Android and Apple iOS device.
In addition to wireless connectivity in multiroom sound and control over smartphones, MusicCast also delivers a host of state-of-the-art music listening functions – Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay wireless music streaming, internet radio and access to a number of online music services such as Spotify, Deezer, Tidal and many others.
On the technical side, the Yamaha ADD is equipped with a specially designed network module for connecting to the local network / internet and an excellent Burr-Brown DAC chip. This high-quality DAC, which is commonly used in most current Yamaha AV receivers, can play a variety of high-resolution digital high definition digital formats, including AIFF, FLAC and WAV files up to 24bit / 192kHz and ALAC up to 24bit / 96kHz.
Yamaha ADD is not a novelty in its function because there are similar Yamaha devices, that is, the WXC-50 preamplifier and the WXA-50 amplifier, but these models are much more equipped and quite expensive and are not very accessible to everyone. Accordingly, Yamaha and ADD are planning to make MusicCast available to a wider circle of lovers of good sound, especially those interested in multiroom sound, but do not want to change their older Hi-Fi systems.
